Carbon offset project, Ongoing
As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability, UHURU aims to reduce company air travel as much as possible. To compensate for the essential travel it must conduct the firm enthusiastically participates in the Garcia River Forest Project carbon offset program, contributing financially to the Project’s goals of forest conservation and habitat restoration.
The Garcia River Forest is located approximately 100 miles north of San Francisco in the heart of California’s Redwood region. Preservation of the forest allows for the storage of 77,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually and is a verified offset project registered with the California Climate Action Reserve. It is the largest forest verified as a source of carbon reductions in the country.
