Overseas Production Manager

Job Summary

The Overseas Production Manager is a Brooklyn office and travel based position responsible for managing product development, sourcing, quality control, pricing, technical project management, production management and vendor management on all of Uhuru’s Overseas production projects. The ideal candidate must have expert level furniture engineering knowledge, project management skills and first-hand experience managing manufacturing in Vietnam. The Overseas Production Manager ensures all projects are completed successfully, on time and within budget, while consistently meeting quality expectations and growing our overseas network of vendors.

Job Description

  • Manage the fabrication of furniture and components at our Vietnam factories
  • Manage orders in conjunction with Uhuru’s overseas quality assurance and sourcing team
  • Coordinate order production with all parties including Vendors, Factories, Account Managers, Project Managers, and Designers
  • Oversee purchase orders, pro forma invoices, pricing, budgets, production and quality control documentation
  • Manage order production schedules from start to completion
  • Implement Uhuru’s Quality Control standards with overseas vendors
  • Develop new vendor relationships and increase / improve production capabilities
  • Coordinate product design, development and engineering improvements with vendors

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor or masters degree with high marks in a relevant field
  • 5+ Years experience with furniture production in South East Asia
  • Furniture design engineering experience required
  • Experience in CAD and reading drawings required (3D programs a plus)
  • Experience with spreadsheets
  • Project management and logistics certifications a plus
  • Travel to USA required (1-2 weeks per trip, quarterly and on as-required basis)
